# Setting Up Your Creative Space

> Walks a new author through the minimum information needed to get a workable presence — a name, timezone, and identity — so their public site has something to sh

We tried to make this platform simple and intuitive, but because there are so many things that go into book writing and publishing, it might seem overwhelming at first. But not to worry, we'll start small.

## How it works

* **Step 1 — Workspace name & timezone**
  * The workspace name is usually the author's name or pen name, and it becomes the default display name on the public site. So make sure to use the name you will be publishing under!
  * The timezone matches the current browser location and serves as the schedule for sending automated email cadences.
* **Step 2 — Tagline & socials**
  * One-line tagline that appears under the name on the homepage. For example: *Gothic Horror & Supernatural Thrillers Author.*
  * Social media URLs (Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, X, Goodreads, YouTube, etc.)
* **Step 3 — Profile photo**
* **Optional: if a photo should appear on the public website, upload one here. It can be changed at any time (just like everything else).**
