Two categories with different compliance behavior.

## How it works

### Marketing cadences

* Newsletter, launch announcements, promotional content
* **Respects opt-out** — readers who unsubscribed will not receive
* **Includes unsubscribe link** in footer
* **Includes one-click unsubscribe headers** for inbox-native unsubscribe
* Subject to workspace rate limits

### Transactional cadences

* Functional messages: ARC download links, order confirmations, password resets, signup confirmations
* **Bypasses opt-out** — even unsubscribed readers receive these
* **No unsubscribe link** required
* No special compliance headers

**Setting the type:** Cadence creation dialog or edit settings.

## **Compliance enforcement:** Marketing sends check both the workspace opt-out list (one-time unsubscribes) and the reader's `can_receive_marketing_emails` flag (set on profile or via ARC signup checkbox).
