# Gmail Sending Integration

> Sends cadence emails from the author's connected Gmail account instead of the platform default sender.

## Who this is for

Authors who want emails to come from their personal Gmail address for higher trust and better open rates.

## Overview

Sends cadence emails from the author's connected Gmail account instead of the platform default sender.

## How it works

### Connect flow

1. Open cadence workspace settings → Gmail Sending tab
2. Click **Connect Gmail**
3. Standard Google OAuth flow grants access with these scopes:
   * Read user email and profile
   * Send email on behalf of the user
4. Connection confirmed on return; status visible in the settings tab

### Per-cadence opt-in

* Each cadence has a "Send via Gmail" toggle
* Requires the cadence owner (the author who created it) to have a connected Gmail account

### Send behavior

* Emails sent via Gmail API with the From address = the connected Google account email
* Workspace name used as the display name
* **Automatic fallback** to platform sending if Gmail is unavailable, the token expired, or the API call fails

**Disconnect** any time from the same settings tab; the connection is immediately removed from the author's active integrations list.

### What this does NOT do today

* No author DKIM/SPF setup for sending from a custom domain
* No quota tracking against Gmail's daily limits
* No send-as alias picker (always sends from the connected account address)
